ANGELENOS URGE L.A. CITY LEADERS TO #STANDFORJUSTICE
As civil rights icon Fannie Lou Hamer famously said, “We are sick and tired of being sick and tired.” Over 200,000 Angelenos are at risk everyday living within 2,500 feet of an active oil well. We’ve waited two years for the City to release a report on the possibility of a common-sense health and safety buffer ordinance that would phase out these operations, protecting our health and planet.
We are demanding the report be released by Wednesday, May 29!

If you are a City of LA resident, we need your voice! Use the below phone script to tell Mayor Garcetti that environmental justice should be a top priority:
Hello, my name is ___________. I’m an LA resident of Los Angeles and I’m deeply concerned about the dangerous oil extraction site in neighborhoods across the City. I appreciate Mayor Garcetti including this issue in his Green New Deal proposal. But we need to the Mayor to everything in his power to enact a 2,500 ft buffer ordinance and ensure phase out of active wells in no more than five years. That starts with a public pledge of support for the policy and urging the City’s Petroleum Administrator to release an 18-month over-due his report on this issue by May 29. Thank you.
